What you will learn

Hand-pinching forms

Learn to apply pinching motions to shape clay into forms like coffee cups, trinket dishes and bowls.

Coiling vessels

Create taller organic vessels by squeezing clay into coils, then joining & blending the pieces.

Slab rolling

Learn how to roll out a clay slab. Craft plates and bowls, box-shaped objects, jewellery and decorations.

The art of hand-building

Hand-building is a more organic process than wheel-throwing. You have the freedom to create many types of object. From functional items like mugs and dishes, to sculptures, jewellery and decorative items. It is different from sitting at the pottery wheel, where typically you throw cylindrical forms. Hand-building is extremely beginner friendly.
